Coaching & Support
ADHD & Executive Functioning Coaching
At Wright Academics, we take a comprehensive, brain-based approach to supporting students with ADHD and executive functioning challenges—one that goes beyond surface-level strategies to build lasting independence.
Our coaching is grounded in the understanding that true executive functioning growth requires attention to both internal skills and external systems.
Internal skills are the invisible drivers of behavior—skills like self-awareness, self-regulation, working memory, task initiation, and flexible thinking. Many students with ADHD struggle not because they lack ability, but because they haven’t yet developed these internal processes. Through explicit coaching, modeling, and guided practice, we help students learn how to:
- Pause and reflect before acting
- Manage emotions and frustration
- Visualize tasks and outcomes
- Develop internal dialogue for planning and problem-solving
- Build awareness of time, effort, and expectations
At the same time, we recognize that internal skills alone are not enough for true Executive Functioning growth—students also need external structures to support success in real-world environments. That’s why we pair internal skill development with practical, external executive functioning supports, including:
- Calendar systems and time blocking
- Assignment tracking and planning tools
- Note-taking strategies tailored to learning style
- Organizational systems for materials and digital work
- Step-by-step approaches to managing long-term projects
What makes our approach unique is the integration of these two models. We don’t just teach students what to do—we teach them how to think so they can eventually do it independently. Our goal is to move students from dependence on adults and reminders to independence, self-direction, and confidence.
Parent & Student Executive Functioning Coaching
At Wright Academics, we believe lasting success happens when students and parents work together. Our Parent & Student Executive Functioning Coaching program supports families in building practical systems for organization, time management, and academic success—both at home and in the classroom.
This unique program bridges the gap between the executive functioning strategies students learn during individual sessions and their consistent application in daily life. While many students thrive during tutoring, skills can fade without ongoing structure and reinforcement. Our model combines personalized student coaching with targeted parent guidance to help families create routines that reduce stress, build independence, and build confidence.
Program Goals
- Strengthen students’ executive functioning and self-management skills
- Build academic and personal confidence
- Empower parents to support growth and independence
- Reduce household tension by encouraging responsibility and collaboration
How It Works
Students and parents participate in regular, tailored coaching sessions. Our team provides individualized tools, communication strategies, and systems that make learning more manageable at school and at home. Ongoing check-ins ensure meaningful progress and lasting results.
By the end of the program, both students and parents gain the tools, confidence, and shared language needed to work together effectively—making academic success more sustainable and stress-free.
Enrichment Programs
Our enrichment programs give students opportunities to explore interests, develop new skills, and challenge themselves academically. Through engaging, hands-on activities, students build confidence, creativity, and critical thinking skills in a supportive environment with peers.
Certification & Training Opportunities
We offer structured programs for educators, tutors, and professionals seeking training or certification in areas related to education, tutoring, academics, or Orton-Gillingham coaching. Participants gain practical knowledge, effective strategies, and ready-to-use resources they can apply immediately.
